ABOUT

About Elementa

Elementa is a pre-assessment material intelligence platform that helps architects, engineers and developers compare building-material strategies, reuse pathways and indicative embodied carbon on new builds and refurbishments, before formal assessment.

Who is behind it

Elementa is operated by LX Design Studio, a design studio in Graz, Austria, working on sustainable design concepts and visualisation for architects and real-estate professionals. The software is built with SUPALABS. LX Design Studio is the controller for personal data processed by Elementa; see theprivacy policy.

Which Elementa this is

Several organisations share the name. This Elementa is the building-material software at elementa.cloud and app.elementa.cloud. It is not connected to Elementa Consulting, the building-services engineering practice now part of Introba, or to other companies called Elementa.

What it does

  • Define the building: import an IFC or DXF file, or sketch a concept in the configurator, organised into seven building systems from structure to finishes.
  • Review the materials: check suggested matches, missing quantities and assumptions in one review queue.
  • Compare options: explore retain, reuse and replace strategies, compare scenarios and carry the material strategy into a report.

Where the numbers come from

Elementa prices each layer from an ÖKOBAUDAT generic dataset (EN 15804+A2, modules A1–A3) pinned to that layer. It proposes the dataset that fits the project's location first, generic before product-specific, and asks you when several fit equally. A layer with no dataset pinned stays unpriced and is left out of totals rather than given a default figure.

Results are indicative and support early decisions; they are not a certified life-cycle assessment and are not for compliance reporting. More on that line inpre-assessment vs certified LCAand EPDs vs generic datasets, and the terms are defined in the glossary.
